Dr. David Speicher

David and Karen Speicher responded to the Lord’s call in 2010 to lead South Bay Church after the founding pastor stepped down, with David transitioning from his role as an elder to shepherd the congregation. With over 35 years in pastoral ministry, David is also a licensed professional counselor and has served in the armed forces, experiences that have shaped a steady, relational, and people-centered approach to leadership. He is known for his deep commitment to healthy leadership, authentic relationships, and lifelong friendships within the church body. Since coming to South Bay, they have helped plant several regional churches, equipped and sent out numerous pastors, and continue to mentor leaders locally and nationwide. David holds a Doctorate in Systematic Theology from Logos University, and outside of ministry he enjoys good café con leche, disc golf, and time with his family.

Sean Doherty - Executive Pastor

Sean Doherty joined the staff of South Bay Church in 2015 after years of serving in ministry environments and supporting church plants. As Executive Pastor, he oversees staff leadership, discipleship across the church, and the organization’s overall budget and financial stewardship. He also serves as treasurer for South Bay Academy and oversees SEU at South Bay, helping guide strategic initiatives and ministry development. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University. Passionate about resourcing others and fostering spiritual growth, Sean enjoys reading, cooking, and playing video games, and spending time with his wife, Kelli, and their three children—Anah, Zion, and Levi.

Kevin Riggs - Pastor of Next-Gen

Kevin Riggs joined the staff of South Bay Church in March 2017 after years of serving as a dedicated volunteer in kids ministry. As Next‑Gen Pastor, he oversees ministry from birth through college, including kids, middle school, high school, and young adults. Kevin completed The Bible Training Centre for Pastors program and is passionate about helping the next generation grow in their faith. He enjoys baking, collecting Pokémon cards, watching WWE, and spending time with his wife, Kara, and their four children—Katelyn, Kianna, Kai, and Bianca.
